Polka Dot Pottery’s downtown studio sits on the River Park Square skywalk level, the third-floor walkway that connects the mall to the parking garage and the Macy’s-side block. That location is part of the appeal: parents can park once, drop kids at the studio, and grab a coffee or browse the mall for the 90 minutes the party runs. The studio is bright, well-lit, and stocked with a wide bisque inventory — mugs, banks, plates, animal figurines — at varying price points.

Birthday parties run 90 minutes with a $100 deposit to hold the date and a per-guest minimum that requires each painter to choose a $24-and-up piece. The studio handles the firing in-house and the finished pottery is ready for pickup about a week later, which becomes its own follow-up event. There is no kitchen, but the studio allows hosts to bring a cake and snacks for the cake portion of the schedule. Booking is by phone with the specific location, and weekend afternoons book three to four weeks ahead during the heart of the school year.
