Working Draft is one of Madison’s better small-batch craft breweries, tucked into a Near East Side warehouse just off the bike path on East Wilson. The taproom is a sprawling open space with concrete floors, long communal tables, garage-door windows that open onto the patio, and a lineup that leans on hazy IPAs, lagers, and a rotating sour program. For an adult birthday where you want the easy energy of a brewery rather than the formality of a restaurant, it’s the right call.

The taproom is open for partial reservations during normal hours, and full venue rentals are offered Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays — the nights the brewery is otherwise closed to the public. A buyout requires a non-refundable deposit, comes with 18% gratuity on the final bill, and gives you the run of the room, the patio when weather allows, and access to the private back room.
