About This Venue
The Iowa Taproom anchors the corner of East 3rd and Walnut in the East Village and pours more than 120 Iowa-only beers on tap, which is the largest dedicated Iowa beer list in the state. For a 30th, 40th, or 50th birthday in downtown Des Moines, it is one of the few rooms that feels distinctly local rather than generic chain-hotel ballroom.
Two private spaces handle larger groups: the Marquette Room is a 60-plus-person reception space with its own bar, and the smaller Joliet Room is a cellar-style space with exposed brick that works well for a seated dinner of 20. Both come with their own AV setup and a dedicated event coordinator who builds out food and beverage packages from the kitchen menu.
